ABOUT PALLOTTINE
Located in Florissant, Missouri, the Pallottine Renewal Center is owned and operated by the Pallottine Missionary Sisters. In 1969, the Pallottine Missionary Sisters became involved in the retreat ministry by directing and hosting groups. Over 130,000 people have enjoyed the hospitality and reflective environment of the Renewal Center. Their doors have been open for groups and individuals for religious and professional purposes with special accommodations for those with disabilities. The Center has over 83 acres of woodlands plus a gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool and accommodations for over 40 rooms.
POSITION OVERVIEW
- This newly created position of Director will be filled by a person who shares the values and mission of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters; namely, to increase faith and love using any and all means.
- The Director will support the establishment of a Board of Directors to develop a strategic plan for the Center and will be responsible for expanding the scope of the retreat services as well as managing the Center’s day-to-day operations. The Director will report to the Pallottine Missionary Sisters Provincial and her Council and the Board of Directors of the Renewal Center.
Specific duties include:
- Carry out the mission and ministry of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters and the Renewal Center;
- Direct the day-to-day operations for the Center;
- Recruit a governing Board of Directors for the Center;
- Initiate an expanded development program including gifts, grants, annual appeals and special events;
- Maintain a clean, secure environment to support the Center, its mission and vision;
- Enhance and develop collaborative relationships with the community, neighboring faith organizations, and other retreat centers;
- Identify and develop additional retreat program opportunities, utilizing the Center’s beautiful and expansive property, excellent retreat facilities and talented people;
- Evaluate and expand the marketing and public relations program to promote the usage of the Center;
- Develop and manage short and long-range financial plans including capital improvement plans and an annual operating budget;
- Manage a staff of 20.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of, commitment to and respect for faith-based programs;
- Experience or background in ministry, preferred;
- Prefer a Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in managing programs or facilities;
- Strong knowledge of marketing and development activities and a proven track record of fund development;
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills including recruiting expertise;
- Strategic planning and visionary skills;
- Ability to lead and manage change including the enrollment of staff, Sisters, Friends, the community and others in change processes;
- Ability to understand and respect religious differences and beliefs;
- Strong collaborative skills;
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to influence in a diverse environment;
- Solid operations and hospitality background;
- Strong community outreach skills and knowledge of the St. Louis community preferred;
- Customer focus;
- Proven record of embracing diversity.
